System Safety Monitor permette attraverso un modulo MD5 ed altre features il controllo assoluto e la gestione di programmi, servizi o dll. Il programma ci permette la creazione di una zona trust/untrust nella quale inserire i programmi che desideriamo possano essere avviati automaticamente o ai quali vogliamo concedere la possibilità di accedere alla rete. Il programma, inoltre, ci avverte quando il registro o un programma da noi autorizzato all'avvio, viene modificato. La gestione è semplice, un pannello compare ogni volta che una nuova applicazione viene avviata e ci viene chiesta la creazione di una regola. System Safety Monitor può essere usato anche se presente un software Firewall. Nelle ultime release il programma è in grado di prevenire la pericolosa dll injection e l'altrettanto pericolosa e attuale minaccia rootkit. Il prodotto è costantemente aggiornato dai produttori con nuove features. Features: - Allows you to control which programs and applications can be opened on your computer. Alerts you whenever a program, you want to run was modified. - Allows you to control calls to some OS functions which is used in "DLL Injection" and Keystroke logging utilities. - Prevents unauthorized code-injection activity, so no application will be allowed to use another legitimate one for malicious activity. - Allows you to control which programs are allowed to start other, and wich cannot be started by others. For example, you may allow your browser to be started only by Explorer.exe but not by any other untrusted application. - Offers a choice of two modes - User and Administrator. In Administrator mode you can set your preferences to control programs. Access to this mode can be protected with an encrypted password to prevent anyone changing your settings. In User mode no changes can be made to your settings. - Supervises changes to important registry keys when installing new programs. - Will block or alert on any attempt to change guarded registry keys. - Allows you to control which programs run at system startup. - Maintains a list of running applications and allows you to terminate any application immediately. - Allows you to block specific windows (including websites) from opening. - Can be set to run automatically on system startup. Inoltre sottolineiamo, perchè di particolare importanza e attualità, che dalla build 2.0.0.556 beta 2 System Safety ha aggiunto: - SSM can "see" the most invisible processes (rootkits) so that SSM can monitor, protect and terminate those processes the same way as "normal" ones. E nella build 2.0.0.559 beta 2 ha perfezionato la funzione: - in the previous SSM builds the Process Monitor could see some user-mode rootkit classes (e.g. "Hacker Defender") only if SMM was started before such rootkits. From build 559 Process Monitor lists hidden rootkit processes of such rootkit classes with any order of starting the applications.
